Functions / Events @ The Weir We will keep you updated with events taking place at The Weir by adding details to the webpage and on Facebook.

However if you are looking for a venue, to hold for example, one of the following, please do not hesitate to enquire, by calling Sam Smith on 01288 362 234 to discuss your requirements:-

  • Christening Lunches / High Teas
  • Children & Adult Birthday celebrations - lunchtime / evenings
  • Engagements
  • Xmas Celebrations
  • Wakes

In addition you may be part of a local group who wish to gather for a meal either lunch time or evening, why not consider The Weir as we can seat up to 70 guests in the main restaurant area.

Fishing (Bude Canal Angling Association)

The lake was created back in 2011 and current stock is mainly Carp with some Roach and Dace.

Adult Ticket: £5.00 per Day, £20.00 per week


Junior (U16) & OAP: £2.50 per day, £10.00 per week

Please purchase your ticket from the Café either on the day or over the phone where we can accept credit or debit cards.

Mobility Scooter / Tramper Hire

We have a Mobility Scooter / Tramper available for hire to those family members who have limited mobility.

Hire costs are as follows:-

Tramper Hire:- £10.00 per day

You will also require a membership to Countryside Mobility South West.

This can be done on a temporary basis at £2.50 (4 weeks).

The tramper can be used in the immediate vicinity and also on the Tow Path to Bude and on the multifunctional pathway on the Whalesborough grounds, which reaches to the main Widemouth Road.

It is best where possible to enquire in advance and book for the days you require. You can either call into the Café or discuss over the phone.

The Weir Shop

The Weir Café & Restaurant also has a small shop facility, ideal for those staying on-site at Whalesborough Farm Cottages (www.whalesborough.co.uk), those living in nearby Marhamchurch, or maybe you are a loyal regular visitor to us or just passing through on holiday.

We stock items such as :- Daily Papers (these can be obtained by pre-order - please call on 01288 362234 or pop in and request them), Milk, Bread, Eggs, Clotted Cream, Butter, Chilled Pilgrim Pasties and Sausage Rolls, Fruit, Plain, Ginger, Cheese & Herb Scones, Homemade Cakes, Crisps, Fruit Juices and Soft Drinks. Bottles of Ciders, Wines, Cornish Real Ales & Cornish Lager are also available to takeaway.

We also provide a small selection of seasonal / essential vegetables (others can be ordered on request):- Mixed Peppers, Tomatoes, Cucumber, Onions, Carrots, Parsnips, Mushrooms, Potatoes / Jacket Potatoes.

At this time of year items may not always be on display as they are perishable, so please do not hesitate to ask a member of staff should you require an item.

In addition we have several gift items available:-

  • A selection of Chutney & Jams
  • Range of Bottled Oils - a selection to choose from (www.rowcliffe.co.uk)
  • Wilde Soap - Locally made selection of soaps (www.wilde-soap.co.uk)
  • The Weir Gift Vouchers

Childrens Parties

Ever thought of holding you Childs Birthday Party here at The Weir? We have the Outdoor Childrens Play Area and the indoor interactive wildlife area to keep them amused.

You can choose from:- a Buffet Style Tea Party / Childs Menu Selection or something more bespoke. For enquiries / more information please either call in and speak to Sam Smith or call on 01288 362234.
